Swim England rankings — frequently asked questions

What are the Swim England rankings?

Swim England (formerly the ASA) publishes a rolling ranking of every licensed swim in Britain over the last 12 months. Times are ranked by event, age, sex and course, so a swimmer appears once per event with their fastest legal time.

Are the ASA rankings the same as the Swim England rankings?

Yes. The ASA became Swim England in 2017, but many clubs and parents still call them the ASA rankings. They are the same published rankings on swimmingresults.org.

How do I find my county ranking?

Pick your county on this page and then your age group and sex to see the fastest county times in each event, or search any swimmer by name or Swim England number to get their live ranking position in every event.

How often do the rankings update?

Rankings update as meets are licensed and results are loaded, usually within a week or two of a competition. The 12-month window means old swims drop off automatically.

What is the difference between long course and short course rankings?

Long course times are swum in a 50m pool and short course in a 25m pool. Short course times are faster because of the extra turns, so Swim England ranks them separately.
